Waterfront Boarding
Vacation for them, peace of mind for you.
Do you feel guilty for booking a trip? We get it. We have clients who went years without traveling because they couldn’t bare to leave their best friend behind.
And then… they found us. At Essential Paws, your dog gets to enjoy their own vacation—complete with oceanfront comfort, interactive play, and personalized care. Our resort is tucked into the heart of South Hutchinson Island in sunny Fort Pierce Florida. With waterfront views and a cooling ocean breeze, your dog will be vacationing in luxury. Wouldn’t it be great if your dog got excited when you pulled out your suitcase?
Our mission is to create a home-like atmosphere where guests and their parents feel valued, nurtured, and supported with personalized care. Please keep in mind our moto is “curated over crowded,” which means we keep things intimate and intentional. Spaces are limited; we recommend booking reservations well in advance!

Skip the sad good-byes and kick anxiety to the curb.
We have strict policies in place to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
While most boarding facilities require a “meet and greet,” (typically one day of daycare), we require a 3-day full personality assessment conducted by our behavior-certified dog handlers.
What does it take to “pass” and become part of our pack?
Proper dog-to-dog greetings
Appropriate play styles
Appropriate reactions to social cues from other dogs
Zero reactivity when gates or leashes are present
Low or manageable levels of separation anxiety from parent
Ability to self-regulate/relax comfortably during down time
Zero food aggression towards handlers during meal time
and physical signs of overall contentment in our care!
